Over 100 residents attended West End's Remembrance Service held on Sunday 9th November 2008 at St. Brigid's Church. Ther Service was taken by Mr. Fred Estall. the Last Post was played beautifully by Scott Langridge.
Seven wreaths were laid by representatives of Royal British Legion, the Parish Council, the Carnival Associaton, St. James' School, the Youthouse, Hampshire Guiding and Hampshire Scouts.
It was a very gusty afternoon but fortunately no rain.
Crematoria Management Ltd. have appealed against Eastleigh Borough Council's decision to refuse permission to construct a new crematorium at Bubb Lane.
An Appeal Hearing was held on Tuesday 7th October 2008 at the Council Chambers/Public Gallery of Eastleigh Borough Council, Civic Offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh.
On Tuesday 11th November 2008 the Planning has allowed the Appeal against Eastleigh Borough Council's decision to refuse.
West End Children's Centre is based at the Townhill Community Centre, Wessex Way, off Townhill Way, West End.

Building work is due to commence shortly at the Centre which will provide facilities for the centre to become fully operational.
